NO FRILLS AIRLINES
1. You can't board the plane unless you have the exact change
2. A passenger from the previous flight has locked herself in the toilet and is hysterically refusing to come out
3. Before you take off, the stewardess tells you to fasten your Velcro
4. The captain berates the 1st officer for having the crank handle
5. The captain asks the passengers to chip in a bit for fuel
6. The captain yells at the ground crew to get the sheep off the runway
7. You ask the captain how often the planes crash, and he says, "just once"
8. There's no movie, but your life keeps flashing before your eyes
9. You see an Al-Qaeda terrorist with a gun demanding to be let off the plane
10. The guy next to you is reading that book about the plane survivors who became cannibals to survive
11. On the PA system instead of:
"good afternoon this is your captain speaking, we will be taking off shortly so please sit back and enjoy the flight"
you get
"Sit down, shut up, and we go when i f**king say so, and i don't want to hear any of that i gotta go toilet crap, i'll tell you when to shit coz i'm the f**king boss!"
12. You have to put your bags on the plane plus you also have to take them off at the other end
13. When the bing bong goes for the safety routine, herr capitan says "oh sod them, if they can't be arsed listening, let the buggers drown"
14. "When disaster strikes there may be a loss of cabin pressure and a reduction in the number of wings..."
15. "We're hoping to fly more or less in a straight line, but sometimes the Navy plays war games in the Channel on a Wednesday night, so be prepared"

OTELO E SALAZAR
Otelo: "Precisamos de um homem honesto como Salazar"
Otelo Saraiva de Carvalho acredita que Portugal precisa "de um homem com inteligência e a honestidade do ponto de vista do Salazar" para resolver a crise que atravessa.
Em entrevista ao "Jornal de Negócios", o "capitão de Abril" sublinhou que "precisávamos de um homem com inteligência e a honestidade do ponto de vista do Salazar, mas que não tivesse a perspectiva que impôs, de um fascismo à italiana (...) Alguém que fosse um bom gestor de finanças, que tivesse a perspectiva de, no campo social, beneficiar o povo, mesmo e sobretudo em detrimento das grandes fortunas".
Otelo Saraiva de Carvalho elogia o que se fez a seguir à revolução "ao nível da educação, da saúde". "Houve um rápido crescimento do nível económico das populações a seguir ao 25 de Abril à custa das reservas de ouro que o forreta do Salazar tinha amealhado no Banco de Portugal, mas depois, esgotada essa possibilidade, a coisa começou a entrar em dificuldades", salientou.

RENATO: NOVA SESSÃO A 3 DE JUNHO
Renato Seabra esteve de novo em tribunal
Ainda não foi desta que o jovem português ficou a saber se o caso vai para julgamento ou não. Nova sessão está marcada para o dia 3 de Junho
Renato Seabra voltou esta sexta-feira ao Tribunal Criminal de Manhattan, mas ainda não foi desta que ficou a saber se o caso transita ou não para julgamento. Soube-se apenas que a acusação cedeu a alguns pedidos de David Touger, advogado de defesa de Renato, que está já na posse de fotografias e relatórios pormenorizados da cena do crime, amostras de ADN recolhidas no interior do quarto de hotel onde Carlos Castro foi encontrado morto e imagens da autópsia ao cronista.
Por seu lado, Touger, que continua a não comentar se vai alegar insanidade, vai entregar à acusação, conduzida pela procuradora Maxine Rosenthal, os relatórios encomendados ao Hospital de Saint Luke, onde renato foi assistido poucas horas depois do crime e ainda antes de ser detido pela polícia. Ficam apenas a faltar os relatórios psiquiátrico do Hospital Bellevue, que David Touger reclama e dos quais depende a confirmação da validade da confissão de Renato Seabra. Decisão que se esperava que fosse tomada hoje, mas que o juíz acabou assim por adiar para o dia 3 de Junho, data da próxima sessão. Nesta audiência Renato voltou a ter a mãe por perto e vestiu de novo o fato cinzento que esta lhe ofereceu. Odília Pereirinha continua a viver em Newark, por forma a estar mais próxima do filho.
DEFESA DE RENATO SEABRA ADMITE PEDIR REGRESSO AO HOSPITAL
O advogado de defesa de Renato Seabra, acusado do homicídio do colunista Carlos Castro, afirmou hoje que vai pedir que o jovem português saia da prisão de Rikers Island e regresse ao hospital, se o acompanhamento médico for deficiente.
«No hospital eles certificam-se de que ele toma os medicamentos, se vir que em Rikers não está a receber [tratamento adequado], então obviamente faria um pedido para trazê-lo de volta ao hospital», disse David Touger.
«Vamos ver como ele se ajusta. Acho que ele precisa de hospitalização, não está pronto para estar junto com a população de qualquer género de prisão», adiantou o advogado, após mais uma audiência preliminar no caso no Supremo Tribunal de Nova Iorque.
Depois de mais de três meses na ala psiquiátrica do Hospital de Bellevue, Seabra foi transferido em meados de abril para Rikers Island, o principal complexo prisional de Nova Iorque, sem que o departamento penal de Nova Iorque tenha adiantado razões.
«Liguei-lhes e pedi para não o fazerem e eles disseram que iam fazer. Não dão explicações», adiantou hoje Touger.
O jovem português está «um pouco melhor do que eu esperava, em parte porque está medicado, e acho que isso está a entorpecer os sentidos dele e torna-se mais fácil adaptar-se» ao ambiente prisional, disse.
Seabra está a ser medicado «por causa da sua doença psiquiátrica» e sob vigilância por possibilidade de suicídio. Encontra-se em isolamento e não juntamente com a população geral de reclusos, adiantou Touger.
Segundo o advogado, Sebra é visitado três vezes por semana pela mãe, Odília Pereirinha, que tem comparecido nas últimas sessões tribunal.
Situado próximo do aeroporto de LaGuardia, Queens, a ilha de Rikers é o principal complexo prisional do Estado de Nova Iorque, com perto de 1.700 metros quadrados. Tem uma população prisional de perto de 14 mil reclusos e um orçamento anual de 860 milhões de dólares.
O homicídio de Carlos Castro ocorreu no início deste ano num hotel de Nova Iorque, onde estava alojado com Renato Seabra.
